RESULTS FOR PAR ROUND 22ND JANUARY 2011

Magnificent conditions for this weeks round, played in, I’m sure all members favouite format PAR. With twenty competitors, more than a third will receive handicap deductions. Good going.

With the absence of last weeks winners, another Mifsud stood up to collect the points. Congratulations to Tony  handing in an excellent 78 of the stick for +6! Considering he was that at the turn,  thoughts of  a new handicap may have crept into his back nine.

Our seniors continue to show the field a fresh pair of heels, with only one non senior member collecting points for the round.

Reminder to all members that next Saturday is the due date for club subs to be paid, failure to do so will result in championship points not given. Currently i believe there are thirteen un- financial members! Subs are only $20 for the year, and can be paid to our treasurer Chris Priems.

RESULTS FOR STABLEFORD ROUND JAN 15th 2011

Echuca 2010 - Targe was on fire this weekend !!

After an extremely humid week with constant rain, the golfing Gods once again smiled upon the Ivanhoe golf club. Although the fairways didn’t quite have the run as last week, six members managed 36 pts or better.

Well done to our two winners for the round, Targe Mifsud, and David Rees both finishing on 39 pts(welcome to your new handicaps!). A couple of noteworthy performances for the day were. Gordon Hill hitting a sublime tee shot on the par 3 fourth to eighty cm! And, yes. He made the Birdie. Which, is exactly what Harry Boughen did to the 17th on his way to a fantastic 25pt back nine, tieing third place.

Emilio Bassi continues on his merry way this season, gathering points in every round so far. The seinors competition now  making up 9 of the top thirteen  positions for the club championship.                                                                                                                  Results for Saturday, 15 January 2011

Results for January Monthly Medal 8th Jan 2011

Now the Ashes are over we can all return to more enjoyable pursuits… Yes, that frustrating game we call golf.

Our first compitetion round of the year was played in magnificent Melbourne sunshine. The ball was carrying, and then rolling even further! As the results reflect, you don’t have to be a big hitter in these conditions. Consistancy, straight hitting, and staying out of trouble will produce competitive scores.

Congratulations to the first medal winner for the 2011 season Ken Grist, coming in with a 5 over back nine 38. As Rodger finished equal with Ken on 64 net, 38 back proved just good enough to secure Ken the medal on countback.

I’d like to remind members that they are resposible for the cards they sign, so please check/double check before handing them in.

Results for Stuart Clarke Champion of Champions

Happy Christmas, and new year to all members. I trust everyone had a safe, and thourghly enjoyable time.

Our last golf day for the season again produced beautiful Melbourne conditions leaving no excuses for low scoring. The day was a social round for most members, but for those furtunate to qualify for the champ of champs it proved to be an exciting day.

David Rees was the one to really capitalize with a fantastic round of 72 producing a net 64! A round that included five birdies! Kazim was the only one to threaten the leader(66), with three more posting scores of 67.

After a brief AGM, members were able to focus attentions towards something we could really get our teeth into. A very tatsy breakup that i’m sure all enjoyed.
