Results for Grand FInal Day 26th September 2009

As expected only a few groups this week due to the St Kilda / Geelong Grand Final. After a shotgun start at 7am Noodles and our rising newcomer Bill shot 38 in cold conditions to just edge out Jan one point behind and the over-excited Geelong supporter Gordo one further point behind. Noodles is teetering on single figure handicap again and we’re adjusting Bill down based on his sterling performances so far 🙂
Next week is the October Monthly Medal and hopefully the arctic conditions will have disappeared by then.
Don’t forget the club weekend away is only a month away. If you haven’t sorted out your arrangements with Rodger then you’ll need to see him asap.
Todays winners and grinners are:-
1st S Butterfield(38) 1st Bill Eastoe(38) 2nd Jan Siemon(37) 3rd Gordon Hill(35) 4th Bob McDonald(34) 5th Rodger Clarke(32) 5th Ed Kloprogge(32)

FOLKS. REMEMBER NEXT WEEK IS A SHOTGUN START … Players have to check in at 6.45am

Our intrepid catering manager showed he not only cooks up a mean bbq but can show the rest of the field a clean pair of heels by getting 4 stableford points clear and winning with an impressive 42 points. Well done to the head chef and also to the runner up Jan.

Richard Hall won the money hole today and now realises that good play makes money. Investing the money wisely is optional and on the rare occasions I win the cash I always put it on a horse with outstanding losing capabilities.

Commiserations to Eddie today who lost his match to Pepsi. Just to get to the quarters is a good effort. Andrew put in a solid round and not only won the match but got third place in the comp with 37.

So our 2009 Matchplay Finalists are Andrew Petricola and Craig Sharp. Good luck boys!

Quietly proceeding along for the last few months Rod Grant put in the best round of the day to win the stableford competition with 37 points, two shots clear of the field. Rodger the Lodger showed he’s got the hang of his new knee (it was only a matter of time) and got back into the fray with a joint (excuse the pun) second place with steady Gordo on 35 points. Our youngest member took the money hole (once again) which unfortunately was not a jackpot..well done Kazim.

Today was the first really warm day of the spring getting up to 30 and 28 deg at 8pm…we could be in for a long hot summer!

Handicapping Note. Ed and David were not in the last weeks formal monthly medal as they were playing matchplay. The handicap sheets sent out included them in the formal competition and that has now been adjusted accordingly.

MATCHPLAY FINALS are next Saturday. Good luck to the finalists!!

Grand Final day on 26th September is a shotgun start. If you want to play that day you must pay for the round next week on the 19th September.
