Results for Stuart Clarke Champion of Champions
Happy Christmas, and new year to all members. I trust everyone had a safe, and thourghly enjoyable time.
Our last golf day for the season again produced beautiful Melbourne conditions leaving no excuses for low scoring. The day was a social round for most members, but for those furtunate to qualify for the champ of champs it proved to be an exciting day.
David Rees was the one to really capitalize with a fantastic round of 72 producing a net 64! A round that included five birdies! Kazim was the only one to threaten the leader(66), with three more posting scores of 67.
After a brief AGM, members were able to focus attentions towards something we could really get our teeth into. A very tatsy breakup that i’m sure all enjoyed.

RESULTS FOR VIN O’MEARA XMAS CUP
Another fantastic finish to our only financially competitive tournament. Perfect conditions (come on… we all play regarding) provided excellent scoring opportunities. After a scintillating first round of 65 Craig looked to be in great shape for his owner Ben Akdag. Unfourtunatley for both mentioned the second round coincided with a work christmas party! Bill Eastoe well in the hunt with a fine first round net 68, must of thought himself in with a show, would have tried to purchase a share as well Bill. But.. The smart money was always on Emilio Bassi(71, and 64!!), sublime second round just edging out Bill by one stroke.
There was a lot of money spent on this year’s calcutta, and lets hope this is the way of the future. Amazing to see people’s game/effort change when the dollar is introduced!
Thanks to our previous club captain for posting the eligibilities for this weeks event, good luck to all involved. Reminder that we will be having our AGM prior to the breakup, and as suggested own cuttlery may be preferred.
Would like to thank the work of Allan Davies as club handicapper, as all he has done, and setting up the club database is an incredible achievment. So big thank you Allan. Enjoy the rest(i have your number!).

Results for December Monthly Medal 27th Nov 2010
Jan Siemon showed everybody a clean pair of heels to win the December Monthly Medal in style with a net 62…who backed him for the Calcutta? Lucky man (or maybe not now the handicapper’s got to him!).
Close behind was Mo Sabih relishing his new handicap and shooting a net 64 to run second . Well done Lads.
The form today should be a good indicator for the Vin O’Meara Xmas Cup which is a stroke round over the next two weeks. Vin was one of the founding members of the club and President for many years. A fun loving man with an Irish sense of humour – I’m sure he’ll be looking down and seeing if he can wash us out again like he did back in 2008. Good luck to everybody.
For those of you that were at the Calcutta it was a record tote this year, $1900, and the holders of the placegetters will get a very nice Xmas bonus.
If you haven’t paid the Treasurer your bet money please bring on Saturday.
CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP DECIDED
The Club Champion for 2010 is our club captain, Damien Lee with 107 points – 25 points clear of the field (thats 3 wins clear). Damo set the pace in the middle of the year and it was a case of catch me if you can for the rest of us. A great effort Damo..well done mate from all of us. Runner up is Chris Priems with 82 points and Jan Siemon, this months medal winner got his 8 points to come in third with 79 points just pipping out his President!!. As they say the cream rises to the top .. winners and grinners they are!
ECLECTIC DECIDED
Yes it’s him again!!. Jan Siemon has won the Eclectic competition with net 45.85 strokes which was .15 strokes less than Gordons 46 last year.
A bumper week for Jan which should put him in a good frame of mind to take over the handicapping 🙂
