Chris Priems braved the hottest day for 12 months and won the first Monthly Medal of 2010 on countback from Harry, Kazim and our new president Andrew. To say it was hot is an understatement, consider poor Oliver who came straight from -10degF in Chicago to 38.5degC here all within 36 hours!

Andrew gave his inaugural wrap up of the round today and kept the members under control for the announcements and ball run. Targe took out the Nearest the Pin and the money hole jackpotted once again.

Thats funny I could have sworn it was Targe that had the bright orange hat on his noggin on Saturday!!

Lets hope its cooler next week!!

This was the first official round of the new year and it started the year off with a three way tie for first place. Rodger, Jan and Gordon all put in 38 stableford points to triple win the day.

I trust everyone had a great New Year although I spent mine in the air. I came home from interstate and couldn’t land in Melbourne so Qantas diverted us to Adelaide for re-fuelling and later return. We were landing in Melbourne at 11.40pm and then flew to Adelaide leaving the New Year midnight further and further away. I’m not sure where the New Year actually happened so we had a drink every 5 minutes just in case 🙂

Hope all members had a great Xmas and are looking forward to New Years Eve celebrations. After our busy schedule last year, this year will be just as much fun so keep practicing!! Check out the new 2010 calendar (on right side of screen).

Next Saturday is our first handicapped round for 2010 and is a Stableford competition. The following Saturday, 9th January, will be the January monthly medal.

Don’t forget to make your New Years resolutions….my resolution is not to make any New Years resolutions 🙂
