David Ford Autumn Cup Round 1
Its hard to believe its still autumn when we had a sunny 27 degree day!.
A good turnout for the first round of the David Ford Autumn Cup competition with some solid scores for the first round with the leaders on +3. The groups have been worked out and I’ll post them on the site if someone can send me the list.
Club shirts were handed out today so if you haven’t got yours yet see Gordon next week.
Rodger also requested deposits for the Echuca trip in November .. I think $50 is the amount required.
Don’t forget there is a barbecue after the game on Saturday so stay and enjoy a first class sausage.
Handicapping note.
Handicaps are the same as for the first round. Once the overall competition placings are sorted out then the handicaps and points are calculated for both weeks so the handicaps for the 1st May will reflect both rounds of the Autumn cup.

Results for April Monthly Medal – 3rd April 2010
Excellent win today for our April monthly medal winner Craig Sharp with a net 63 and continuing his fine form. Runner up was the best sausage sizzler in town Oliver Gross with net 64 and Rodger and Noodles a credible third. At the other end of the scale were several people, many in fact, that had net 80s or worse I should know I was one of them. Still its not often I get an airy and a 5 putt in the same round so I was quite proud of myself.
Matchplay winners today were Rodger Clarke who got a walkover as Trevor had to retire after 9 holes when the match was square but his back wouldn’t copy..bad luck Trev. Mal Adey was too good for Neil and won the match 4&3.
Great to see our exclusive kiwi member Brendon Mitchell over from the UK, even if it was just for one round (he must be earning heaps!). He wasn’t here more than 5 minutes and he was getting an earful about the cricket but pointed out the NZ Rugby was in much better shape than Oz. It was fitting that Gordon Hill, 2005 President, was able to give Brendon the trophies he was unable to pick up for the last 5 years!!
Richard Hall is now back from his cricket season and is officially back on the payroll from the 3rd April..welcome back Richard.
