A cold and wet winters day, with only 21 players, saw some lower scores, in fact 29 stableford today earned points today. Bill Eastoe and Stephen O’Sullivan handled the wet conditions like pros and scored an excellent 37 points to be joint winners with Noodles and Trevor coming in 4 and 5 stableford points away respectively for second and third.

An exciting finish to the matchplay game between Chris and Craig went right down to the wire with Chris winning the chip off decider. This is what matchplay is all about and its a shame that there’s a winner and loser. Congratulations Chris and really bad luck to Craig.

A very chilly winter’s day, once again the club is blessed with dry weather until the last couple of holes. The rest of the day was a really miserable wet day. However, a ray of sunshine shone down on our June monthly medal winner, Craig Sharp, who put in a fantastic net 62 today to be three net/is clear of the rest of the field.

Jan, Damo and Malcolm all put in a solid 65 for second place with all alone in third Targe with a net 66.

Jan took out the nearest the pin and Trevor won the ball hole.

Those of you that missed Tiger Woods last time it was here can rejoice that he’s coming back (and we are all paying for him so we may as well go and see him!).

Congratulations to two of our recent members who cleaned up first and second place today. Richard Hall nudged out Bill Eastoe by one stableford point for the win today. Bill came in second two clear of third place. Unfortunately I was crook with the cold thats floating around the city but it did look to be a very nice morning.

Chris Moore sent an email round that indicated that the council are due to make some sort of decision about the course in July which is scarily close. Hopefully we will be able to continue as normal no matter what.

Congratulations to our winner and grinner,  Mehmet Akdag who won everything in a clean sweep on Saturday including todays comp, the clubhouse comp and nearest the pin. I think the clubhouse was 47 stableford! A solid +6 made for the win with Andrew Blight only two shots away with plus four and Rodger Clarke steadily moving forward with another placing for third.

Our president will be out of action for a few weeks as he’s damaged his foot with a fracture from a twist on a pine cone (or was it the pub steps!)..anyway we wish you well soon pres!
