Presidents Message

Gents,

Club shirts are to be worn the next THREE weeks (there are a couple of
spares if you don’t have one $20.00 a shirt).

Tee Time is 7.20am. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to tee time.

We didn’t auction of Damien on Saturday due to miss understanding about
his attendance. If Damien plays Saturday we will auction him prior to
teeing off. Last year’s winner and has a healthy handicap….well worth
a bet.

Remember that all Calcutta monies must be paid prior to tee off
Saturday, Gordon has sent out a list of who bought who and for how much.
To assist Gordon can you have exact money for him.

I have nominated Chris Priems for the Treasurers role and this
nomination has been second by Andrew Petricola. Chris has accepted the
nomination. Chris has been a member of the club for over 10 years and
has been a previous club captain. I believe Chris will put his best
endeavours into the role along with maintaining the strength of the
club.

If there are no further nominations received on Saturday Chris will be
our new treasurer for 2009.

That is all for now,

Stuart.

December Monthly Medal 2008

Congratulations to Neil Iuculano our final monthly medal for the year. Neil shot a net 60 ! 3 clear of the field. Andrew and Targe, who had 63’s, must have thought they had it in the bag :-).
The Calcutta was conducted today and there is a very healthy pot for the winners.

CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP 2008

CHRIS PRIEMS is our Club Champion for the year with 96 points .. well done from all of us Chris a great performance and shows your consistency is better than all us poor souls. Our presidente, Stuart fought all the way for a valiant second and was eight points behind (who knows what would have happened last week if the weather hadn’t been so bad…we’ll never know!!). Kenny Grist, the dark horse, lived up to his name and made a late charge for 3rd spot.

 OTHER TROPHIES
Some of the newer members may not know but we have 3 special trophies for the the best three rounds of stroke, stableford and par. We now have the results which are (wait for it!)

Best 3 rounds of par – Damien Lee (+14 total)
Best 3 rounds of stableford – Mehmet Akdag (127 points)
Best 3 rounds of stroke –  David Rees (191 strokes)

For those older members as we embark on our round next week, we’ll be remembering Vin, his irish sense of humour, tenor voice, pink tees and his ability to swim underwater while playing golf 🙂
